The holy month of Ramadhan officially begins tomorrow.
This has been confirmed by the Director of Sharia at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Sheikh Yahya Kakungulu, after failure to sight the moon last night.
During the entire month of Ramadan, Muslims fast every day from dawn to sunset. It is meant to be a time of spiritual cleansing, discipline and deep contemplation.
It is also a time to renew one’s relationship with God, extra prayer, increased charity and generosity, as well as intense study of the Quran.
