John Musinguzi, also known as Rujoki is the current Chairperson Board of Directors, at the National Information and Technology Authority-Uganda.
He has held the position since August 27, 2019, following a Cabinet approval.
Until that time, Rujoko was the Senior Presidential Advisor on ICT and investment, a position that was never stripped of him.
The newly appointed Commissioner General for the country’s tax holds a Master’s degree in Computing and Information systems from the University of Greenwich and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics of Makerere University.
As he walks in at the URA Tower in Nakawa, a number of challenges await him, most notorious, the digital stamp system which is being implemented without a budget allocation.
Rujoki will also be faced with the customs and border challenges as well as non tariff barriers currently involving Tanzania in the South as well as Rwanda in the South West.
His appointment comes at an unexplained removal of Doris Akol as Commissioner General for the country’s tax body.
