Rwenzururu Kingdom is protesting the continued detention of their King Charles Wesley Mumbere.
Yesterday the Queen mother Agnes Ithungu and Members of Parliament from the area visited the Omusinga Mumbere at Nalufenya Police station in Jinja where he was transferred after being airlifted from Kasese to Entebbe before being driven to the Eastern district by road.
Yesterday MPs led by the leader of Opposition in Parliament Winfred Kiiza visited Mumbere who narrated how he was transferred from Kasese and his current status.
According to Kasese Municipality MP Robert Centenary, the King narrated how he was tortured during the arrest from his Palace as he was being driven to Kasese Police Station.
He says scores of men and women were transferred to Nalufenya from Kasese in a dehumanizing manner and are now demanding the immediate unconditional release of their King Charles Wesley Mumbere.
