Minister for ICT and National guidance Judith Nabakooba has called upon all Ugandans to stand up against domestic and gender based violence.
This comes at a time when the country is experiencing increasing cases of domestic violence during the COVID-19 Pandemic lock down with about 3500 cases recorded countrywide between 20th March and 30th April .
The minister says senior community members, elders, religious and cultural leaders should avail themselves to support couples and communities experiencing violence.
She further says, like the President recently advised, conflicts should be handled through dialogue, appealing to community members to report any case of domestic violence to the relevant authorities.
