Supplementary budget yet to be justified-Parliament

Minister Maria Kiwanuka

The Budget Committee of Parliament is yet to receive the justification
for the supplementary budget tabled last week.
The Committee Chairperson Tim Lwanga says they met with the Minister of Finance last week but she failed to table supporting documents.
He says once they have received those documents they, will scrutinize them and give their recommendations to the speaker who will act accordingly.

Last week the Minister of Finance tabled before parliament a
supplementary budget amounting to Shs 46.9bn meant for among other things paying wages of staff in referral hospitals and the police force.
Parliament however rejected it and instead ordered the
budget committee to first scrutinize the request and report to the
speaker for action.
