Uganda is for the first time today joining the rest of the world to commemorate the “World One Health Day”.
The World One Health day event that is commemorated annually on 3rd November, seeks to provide an interface for an inter-linked health sector.
In Uganda, this means the Ministries of Health, Water and Environment, Agriculture, as well as Tourism, will dialogue on issues related to implementation of a One Health sector in the country.
Collins Oloya, the Chairperson National One Health Platform says the virtual event that will be attended by high-level political participation will focus on pertinent One Sector Health issues aimed at empowering sectors to prevent, respond to and control public health issues.
The World One Health Day is this year marked under the theme; Strengthening National One Health Practice: A call for Advocacy and Action.
