Government has disputed the assumption that the country is likely to be faced with high power capacity it can consume.
Prediction by ministry of energy show that 2019, Uganda will have about 1,900MW of power after completion of Ayago, Karuma and Isimba dam.
Speaking to kfm, Dickson Kateshumbwa the commissioner customs in Uganda revenue Authority said that there are many industries coming to Uganda in the near future and these will consume all the available power.
He said that it’s a fact that the current high price of power tariff is caused by low power consumption, but the road map to industrialized Uganda is likely to be a solution.
