The new army leadership has been challenged to stay focused on UPDF’s peace keeping role on the continent.
The challenge comes from General Elly Tumwine who says UPDF has played a critical role in ensuring stability of the region.
He says the force has acquired the necessary experience and has been tested in its contribution to conflict resolution and pacification and is better than many African armies.
He says UPDF should therefore position itself as the leader of the African armed forces
