This followed media reports yesterday indicating that the Ugandan military had deployed last week after the elections and was on standby to support Security operations in Kenya

In a press statement, the army denounced the allegations describing them as totally false, alarmist and misleading.

The army spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire said there are absolutely no such preparations and no team of officers has been sent out to Kenya in preparation for such adding that Uganda government and UPDF have neither received such a request on deployment nor is there a situation that warrants it.

He says the Republic of Kenya is a sovereign country and as such, its security and that of its people are exclusively within their domain.

He however, reiterates commitment to work with all neighboring countries within the existing frameworks such as the East Africa Community (EAC), and the East African Standby Force (EASF) among others
