Government has been asked to build more workshops for the existing technical and vocational institutions.
The call was made by the chairman Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board Prof Venansius Baryamureeba while touring Lugogo and Nakawa vocational institutes today.
He argues that this will equip students with competence based skills given the increased interest in vocational training.
He explained that currently Kisubi, Nakawa and Lugogo vocational institutes have about 1500, 8000 and 1200 students respectively, yet structures and equipment have not been increased.
