Wanyaka charged with embezzlement

Parliament’s director of the budget office Samuel Wanyaka has been charged with embezzlement and abuse of office.

He appeared before the Anti -Corruption Court Chief Magistrate Sarah Langa this morning and denied all the charges.

He has however been granted a 6m cash bail.

He presented four sureties including Budadiri MP Isaiah Sasaga who have been ordered to execute not cash bonds of 200m each.

Some of the conditions of Wanyaka’s bail include denying him access to parliament because he is likely to interfere with witnesses.

Wanyaka is accused of diverting over Shs 800m meant for conducting service delivery surveys in Uganda.

He returns to court on June 23rd for mention of his case and to enable prosecution concludes its investigations.
