Education minister Janet Kataha Museveni has underpinned the need to incorporate the concept of early childhood program by government before it is consolidated in both the universal primary education and universal secondary education.

Currently the Early Childhood Development program is under private sector and this had generated a lot of criticisms from educationists.

Now speaking during the education sector strategic planning workshop, minister Kataha said that taking over this stage requires effective preparation ranging from training teachers, building classrooms, preparing books among others.

She however said the funds are not readily available to fund the program.

She also said that her ministry will work closely with the private sector on how to run this critical learning stage of young children
