The Ruling National Resistance Movement Party has said that it is ready to take on FDC in the forthcoming elections for Local Council 1 chairpersons.

Addressing journalists at the party office on Kyandodo road, the NRM electoral commission Chairperson Tanga Odoi says FDC officials have been confusing the public that they are opposed to of lining up behind candidates but they are already mobilizing for the same in the villages.

He notes that NRM is a mass party with strong structures right from village level throughout the country, expressing confidence that the NRM will sweep all the Local Council 1 seats in the over 60,000 villages.

According to the national electoral commission, the LC1 elections are slated for January 2017.
