The Ruling National Resistance Movement party has released a tentative roadmap for the party primaries for the Iganga district woman MP.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday morning, the NRM Electoral Commission chairperson Dr Tanga Odoi said the registration for those interested in the position and picking of nomination forms commenced yesterday and will end on 16th August, 2017.

From 3rd to 16th August the party will be updating the voters register at the district headquarters with nominations for the party flag bearer slated for 3rd and 4th August at the party headquarters.

Campaigns for the primaries will be held from 5th to 16th August joint campaigns shall be held.

He has meantime warned aspiring candidates to come with actual academic credentials, must be registered voters of the party and also must not be cultural leaders.

This follows the death of the former Iganga woman MP Grace Hailat Kaudha on 8th July due to pregnancy complications from Mulago hospital extension Kawempe.
