A new report on coverage of presidential campaigns shows that incumbent Yoweri Museveni has continued to take the lion’s share of media attention.

The report by the African Center For Media Excellence indicates that NRM’s Yoweri Museveni dominated the media with 40% front page coverage, followed by independent Amama Mbabazi with 36.% and FDC’s Kizza Besigye with 20%.
It further shows that campaign reporting was largely neutral in December across newspapers, Television and radio.

Negative tones were below 20%, while the positive tone was between 13% and 30% since September.

In terms of gender of sources, the public broadcaster had the highest percentage of male sources in December.
