The NRM’s Presidential flag bearer and incumbent Yoweri Museveni has challenged leaders to closely supervise the distribution of funds allocated under the Youth and women’s funds to ensure it benefits the right people and for accountability.

He was yesterday addressing a campaign rally held at Mijali Village Boma grounds, Yumbe district where he said the lack of supervision by Chief Administrative Officers, Permanent secretaries, Members of Parliament and Resident District Commissioners was stalling the microfinance fund.

The President also clarified that the money distributed under the microfinance fund is a trust loan, therefore the youth are not supposed to provide security when they want to access the money.
He promised to renovate Lokopyo Hill Technical School and construct the Abikina power station to boost the electricity supply in the region.
According to the program, president Museveni is expected to address rallies in Adjumani, Amuru and Nwoya.
Meanwhile, independent presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi took the message of change to his home district of Kanungu with a call on people to fight back if it’s what it will take to protect their votes at voting centres.

Mbabazi told the
people that in case they are attacked by stick welding people who want to scare them away from the polling stations, the people should respond in equal measure.

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) flag bearer Dr Kiiza Besigye goes to Busia after visiting Palisa and Butalejja yesterday.
While addressing rallies in Butalejjja yesterday, Dr Besigye urged Ugandans to ask President Museveni to make accountability of the National Resistance Movement for the last thirty years.
He said when president Museveni came to power in 1986, he made many promises which included a fundamental change, transforming agriculture from subsistence to commercial, construction of roads, bettering the civil service salaries etc he repeated the same in 1996, 2001, 2006, 2011 and now he is repeating the same in 2016, remind him about the promises when he comes here.
The other presidential candidates; Dr. Abed Bwanika is expected in Dokolo and lira, Prof. Venansious Baryamuleeba will be in Agago, while Joseph Mabirizi and Walube Kyalya are in Mpigi district.
