BY Damali Mukhaye:

The ministry of Education is to reopen Old Kampala Secondary School next week after it was closed over a students’ strike.

On Friday last week, students went on strike protesting plans to transfer their head teacher Ms Azidah Ntegane Nsubuga.

According to the ministry’s permanent secretary Alex Kakooza, they reached consensus with Kampala Capital City Authority, which runs the school, that it should be reopened next week.

However, students are to report on different dates with those in Senior six and senior four expected back on Wednesday. This will be followed by their counterparts in S 3 and S 5 who are to report on Thursday and those in S1 and S2 on Friday respectively.

However, Kakooza notes that each student must be accompanied to school by a parent.
