With just a day to the Amuru by-election, opposition politicians under the Inter-party Coalition have described the political atmosphere in Amuru as hostile.

The group is also accusing the NRM camp of the intimidation and voter bribery.

These claims are however refuted by the Chairperson NRM, Juma Labongo.

Both the opposition and the NRM big shots have been camped in Amuru district throughout the campaign period canvassing for support for their respective candidates.

Aswa County Member of Parliament also Chairperson Acholi
Parliamentary Group, Reagan Okumu says the IPC will not succumb to any form of intimidation.
The Amuru Woman parliamentary seat fell vacant after the Betty Bigombe left for a World Bank job.

Only five candidates remain in the race after one pulled out.
