The opposition has hailed speaker Jacob Oulanyah for presiding over a balanced house.

When he took the oath of office, Oulanyah had pledged to provide leadership that would ensure an inclusive house for the opposition.

Oulanyah had a lot of energy and was determined to have the five years of his tenure very different and to restore public confidence in the institution of Parliament and change the way things had previously been done

The opposition chief whip in parliament who also doubles as the Manjiya county legislator Mr. John Baptist Nambeshe says Oulanyah indeed lived the talk.

According to Nambeshe, Oulanyah always emphasized the minority and always gave them chance to speak much as they were few.
