PM Rugunda Promises To Address Low Absorption Capacity

Government says it will do everything possible to address challenges and bottlenecks that have led to low absorption capacity by it various departments.

The commitment has been made by the Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda following a move by World Bank to recall funds requested by the Uganda government due to failure to fully absorb the requested funds.

Addressing the 3rd national partnership forum 2016, Rugunda acknowledged that sometimes government is challenged with poor cooperation in project implementation with citizens, among other issues but is determined to deal with them as the country strives to attain middle income status.

Meanwhile, the chairperson local development partners group urges government to exhibit the highest levels of transparency and accountability to citizens as the only way to attain faster social, economic growth.
