Members of the 12th Parliament will take office next week, and the race for the next Speaker is already heating up.
At least five individuals have so far expressed interest in the third-highest position in Uganda’s administrative structure.
These include the incumbent, Anita Annet Among; two ministers, Norbert Mao and Persis Namuganza; and Members of Parliament Alioni Odria and Lydia Wanyoto, who is a first-time MP-elect.
