Police at Kabalagala is investigating suspected suicide by shooting of a police officer Corporal George Drandi attached to VIPPU unit.

According to Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, it is alleged that the deceased shot himself dead at around 4am inside his place of residence at Nsambya Police Barracks.

The investigating teams have visited the scene of crime and have been able to recover the  rifle that had been assigned to the deceased with 29 rounds of ammunition.

All these  have been exhibited and his body taken to city mortuary Mulago for a post mortem.

Owoyesisgyire  says it is not yet clear why their officer decided to commit suicide.
