The Inspector General of Police Martins Okoth Ochola has promoted the 2020 Tokyo athletes for raising the Uganda flag high during the games.

The athletes including Inspector of Police (IP), Joshua Cheptegei and his coach IP Benjamin Njia, have been promoted from the rank of Inspector of Police to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

Others to include Chemutai Peruth who is promoted to the rank of Inspector of Police, Chelangat Mercyline from Assistant Inspector of Police to Inspector of Police, Chemutai Immaculate from Corporal to Sergeant and Shida Leni from Police Constable to Corporal.

According to police publicist Fred Enanga, they will all receive their appointment letters during the piping ceremony to be held at the Police Headquarters, Naguru.
