Another NGO office has this afternoon been raided by police, this time in Naguru, Nakawa Division.

The Uhuru Institute for Social Development was raided by police who conducted a cordon and search operation.

The executive director of the institute Leonard Okello confirmed the incident, though he quickly added that he did not know why the police were searching the offices.

However, the police spokesperson Asan Kasingye said he was not aware of any such raid.

By this evening, the Uhuru Institute office was still under siege by police.

This is the third civil society organization office to be raided by police on grounds that they are allegedly funding protests against the campaign on presidential age limit removal.

First to be raided were the offices of Action Aid Uganda located in Kansanga and the Great Lakes Institute of Strategic Studies in Ntinda.
