President Yoweri Museveni has directed public university non-teaching staff to call off their strike.

This follows last evening’s meeting with the president at State House Entebbe over their ongoing strike over nonpayment of salary arrears enhancement amounting to Sh 28bn.

The chairperson of Non-Teaching Staff Association Jackson Betihama says they have now called a General Assembly that will take a decision on whether or not to heed to the president’s directive.

Betihama says the president talked them out the strike after promising to have their arrears and enhance salaries paid up in October.
