President Yoweri Museveni says the Pope’s visit will greatly promote Uganda’s tourism industry.
Addressing a news conference in Karamoja sub region this morning,  President Museveni said the visit has sold Uganda and many investors and tourists will flow for business and other reasons.
The president who will put his campaign trail on hold to welcome the Pope says this is a great blessing to Uganda.

President Museveni says he use his audience with Pope Francis on Friday to request him to bless the people who died during Uganda’s liberation war.

Mr Museveni said many people currently wrongly assume only those who die in the name of religion are martyrs.

“Some people do not know Uganda is a land of martyrs. I am going to ask him [Pope Francis] to bless the political martyrs as well,” ” Mr Museveni said on Thursday during a press conference at the Morulinga State Lodge in Napak District (northeast Uganda).
In another development, President Museveni has warned independent candidate Amama Mbabazi against violating the law by spilling cabinet secrets.
Mr.Museveni says although he is not scared about anything, Mbabazi will be going against the leadership code if he begins spilling the secrets.
Mbabazi threatened to spills cabinet secrets if government does not stop using its machinery to disrupt his political activities.
