The Electoral Commission is today expected to start receiving nomination forms from aspiring presidential candidates.
48 aspiring candidates picked nomination forms since the exercise was opened on August 17th.
The commission over the weekend announced a one week extension of the deadline for returning the forms, setting Sept 29th as the new date in response to a request by some of the aspiring candidates.
The commission’s deputy spokesperson Paul Bukenya says those ready to return the forms will not be allowed to come with supporters.
He adds that successful aspirants will then have to book the time and day for their nomination.
According to the electoral Commission Road Map, Presidential nominations are set for on Monday October 5 and Tuesday October 6 at Mandela National Stadium.
