The Parliamentary committee on rules, disciplinary and privileges has kicked off its investigations into the disruption of the proceedings of parliament held on Tuesday.

This comes after the committee received terms of reference from the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga this morning.

According to the letter read by the chairperson of the committee Fox Odoi, the committee is expected to identify members responsible for disrupting the proceedings, those that attempted to grab the mace from sergeant at arms and those that could have exhibited gross disorderly behavior including rowdy conduct and heckling.

According to Odoi the committee should also cause the affected members to appear before the committee to defend themselves.

The committee will also be required to make recommendations and report to parliament by Monday 3rd December.

Odoi says that the time is limited and therefore they will be required to work on weekends as parliament suspended business awaiting their report.

Yesterday the speaker of parliament suspended the business of the house until the committee comes out with the report on whatever happened on Tuesday.
