Retired Supreme Court judge prof. George Wilson Kanyeihamba has lost a case against Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi.

Kanyeihamba had sued Mbabazi, Health Minister Ruhakana Rugunda and businessman Amos Nzeyi for conspiring to fraudulently change the Kigezi Bank of Commerce into the National Bank of Commerce without approval of other shareholders.

Kanyeihamba had also accused the trio of disposing off businesses and property of Kigezi Bank of commerce illegally.

Commercial Court head judge David Wangutsi has dismissed the case on grounds that Kanyeihamba had failed to prove that the group had acted fraudulently.

The judge observed that the change of name was authorized by its board of directors after holding a general meeting with majority shareholders.

Justice Wangutsi ordered that Kanyeihamba along with other 320 co-plaintiffs meet the cost of the suit they filed in 2010.
