Salam Musumba on women emancipation

David Kugonza | November 16, 2016

Opposition Forum for democratic change vice chairperson for Eastern Uganda Salam Musumba has decried the commercialization of politics that has limited women inclusiveness in elections.

Musumba says the politics have been so expensive for women to afford their involvement.

She says women make better leaders than men but society support men even though they are incapable.

Musumba said this while sighting an example of US president elect Donald Trump whom she says his opponent Hillary Clinton was better than him but was marginalized by public due to her gender.

She suggests that due to the nature of society perception towards women, there’s need to set a proper equilibrium and calculate when involving women in politics in order to give chance to society to grow to change their attitude towards women.
