As the second set of heads of schools meet today to continue with the selection exercise, schools have hiked their entry points for both senior one and senior five.

Most heads of schools KFM sampled attributed the rise in the entry point to better performance of learners who sat for the 2020 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) and Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).

Juliet Atuhirwe, the Head Teacher of Bweranyangi Girls SS said that they hiked their entry points to limit admission hence admitting only those who scored up to 7 aggregates in PLE and 21 in Senior five. This is from 8 and 24 aggregates in 2019.

According to Atuhirwe, over 2,200 PLE candidates applied for placement to her school, but they have admitted only 200.

Kiira College Butiki admitted PLE candidates who scored up to 8 aggregates in PLE and up to 22 aggregates in UCE, from 9 and 23 in 2019.

Sacred Hearts SS took learners who scored up to 12 aggregates in PLE and 39 aggregates in UCE.
