By Yahudu Kitunzi:

A second body has been recovered in Sironko by residents, several weeks after landslides struck burying several people in the rubble.

The desperate residents are digging through the mud and rubble using hand hoes after the government abandoned the search and declared the scene a mass grave after a failed search due to heavy rains.

At least ten people were buried in Bufupa Parish, Masaba Sub County in Sironko District, but only one body was retrieved earlier.

The Elgon police spokesperson, Sowed Mashur has confirmed that the recovered body is believed to be one of 9 year old Jane Namono.
