Sembabule district authorities have warned locals against environment degradation.

The warning comes from Sembabule district environment officer Francis Byaruhanga.

Byaruhanga says that most of the wetlands and swamps in the district have been destroyed by people.

Byaruhanga says that his office is to intensify operations to evict all people that are carrying out activities like farming, bricking making and settlement in swamps advising them to vacate.

Byaruhanga says the operation will begin in Lwamakala Government Dam Land where notices have already been issued.
