The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has warned learners against early pregnancy noting that this is the last time a provision of 45 extra minutes over the same will be accepted.

Addressing journalists in Kampala, the board’s spokesperson Jennifer Kalule said that they have so far recorded 6 live births by candidate mothers during the examination period.

Five of these mothers have been able to continue with the examinations, including one who had a still birth.

She says even though the board is  grateful  to  the  Ministry  of  Education  and  Sports  for allowing  registration of pregnant learners, this may not be allowed post Covid-19 pandemic era.

The UCE exams are in their 3rdweek .
