Atleast six people, four from one family have perished in an accident involving an ambulance that was rushing from Atiirir health center IV to Soroti regional referral hospital.

The accident is reported to have occurred near Arapai Ginnery, six kilometers from Soroti regional referral hospital.

According to the East Kyoga regional police spokesperson, Juma Hassan Nyene, four of the occupants in the ambulance registration number UG 3396M died on spot after the Land Cruiser ambulance hit an E-Plus water construction truck Reg no UAJ 971U.

He says police preliminary investigations show that the truck was emitting a lot of smock that caused visibility difficulty for the driver of ambulance that rammed behind it.
