Namutumba district police commander Mr Tom Bainomugishs says the vehicle was over speeding when its tyre burst forcing it to swerve off the road.

Mr Bainomugisha says the vehicle was from Kampala heading to Mbale on Sunday evening.

He identifies the dead as Abedi Kibira a resident of Kibuku district, Alex Alyomu who is attached to computer consultant services limited, Ibrahim Katerega from Namayingo trading centre, Charles Mugoya and two others whose identities are yet to be established.

He adds that the bodies have been taken to Iganga Nakavule hospital for post while the critically injured people have been taken to different hospitals in Iganga, Jinja and Mbale for treatment.
