Solar companies in Uganda are calling for tax waiver on the importation of solar equipment to enable them cut the prices to match the current economic situation.

According to Fenix International Solar Company’s Calvin Kawumi, if solar kits are made affordable many people who are off grid will be served.

Kawumi has also implored the Uganda National Bureau of Standards to control the quality of solar products entering the market to eliminate selling fake solar products.
