By Benjamin Jumbe:

The President of South Sudan Salva Kiir has commended President Yoweri Museveni for the continued support and solidarity with his government.

The appreciation was contained in a letter and special message conveyed by a delegation of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army led by the Chief of Defence Forces Gen James Ajong Mawut.

During the meeting which took place at the State Lodge in Mbale Municipality yesterday, President Museveni and General Ajong discussed UPDF – SPLA security cooperation and training.

Uganda and South Sudan have long standing economic and security interests.

The country is also playing host to over one million refugees who fled instability in South Sudan.
