KCCA FC registered took the 1st punch in the Total 2017 CAF Champions league against Primeiro de Agosto of Angola last evening.

Star Striker Geoffrey Sserunkuuma’s header three minutes form half time proved to be the difference in a hard fought game at the Philip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo

The game was graced by State Minister for Internal Affairs Hon Obiga kania, KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi, who walked in as his boys got the solitary goal in the game, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Minister for Kampala Hon Betty Kamya.

KCCA FC pushed for an early breakthrough but the visitors kept on frustrating their endless attacks as they also searched for their opening.

Much as CD Primeiro de Agosto enjoyed early spells of the game, custodian Benjamin Ochan was equal to every test presented to him.

KCCA FC grew in confidence after the half hour mark as Joseph Ochaya twice checked goalkeeper Adao Cabaca in a space of two minutes, one being a freeckick that whistled over the cross bar at the stroke of halftime.

KCCA FC looked to be the side that benefited more from the half time break when cameo Brian Majwega who had replaced Derrick Nsibambi sent in a well weighted corner that Geoffrey Serunkuuma calmly slotted home three minutes after the break.

KCCA FC piled the pressure but the backline cautiously kept the the defensive discipline as a clean sheet was very important to take to Luanda in a weeks time.

“We have the ability to score away from home, am glad we managed not to concede, and we take a goal with us, we just need to work on our abilities in front of goal and we will get the result we want,”

KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi told the press after the game
