The case filed by taxi drivers over monthly dues collected by KCCA has been dismissed.

High Court Judge Benjamin Kabiito said the drivers had erred in suing KCCA instead of the Minister for Kampala, who issued the directive to re-introduce the dues.

Minister Frank Tumwebaze issued a directive for the authority to reinstate the fees following a court ruling that declared previous collections illegal.

The Court has directed that the fee should be subjected to discussion and approval by the council.

The meeting was however never held, as rope pulling continued between the KCCA technical and political wings.

Justice Kabiito has now advised the drivers to file a fresh petition if they are still interested in the case.

Lawyer John Matovu who represented the taxi drivers said they are going to file a fresh petition very soon.
