Tension remains high in Hoima district following yesterday’s clashes.

The police is still heavily deployed in Lenju village in Kigorobya Sub County were at least 20 houses were torched in clashes that broke out between farmers and herdsmen when the former found cattle grazing in their cotton fields.

Residents are reported to be fleeing their homes for fear of fresh fighting.

This comes as leaders and police in Hoima district are locked up in a security meeting to forge a way forward on how to quell the increasing cases of tribal clashes.

The police spokesperson Fred Enanga says so far six people have been arrested in connection with yesterday’s attack.
