The Kanyamunyus return to court today

David Kugonza | December 6, 2016

The Kanyamunyus will today appear at Nakawa Magistrates Court for the mention of the murder case that was slapped against them.

Businessman Matthew Kanyamunyu, his 26-year-old girlfriend, Cynthia Munwangari and 40 year old brother Joseph Kanyamunyu, are accused of killing child rights activist Kenneth Akena.

Mathew Kanyamunyu and his girlfriend were arrested shortly after Akena was shot around Lugogo, on November 12, 2016.

The trio was charged with murder, an offence for which the maximum penalty is death sentence but the appeared unfazed at their first appearance.

The suspects smiled as a host of journalists clicked away on their cameras.

State Attorney Ann Ntimba promptly informed court that investigations into the case were still incomplete.
