The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has today commissioned an electronic voting system that is expected to be an ultimate solution to rampant absenteeism in the institution.
The system is part of the new electronic security mechanisms set up in Parliament to also provide options for open and secret voting, as well as provision for MPs to sign in electronically.
Speaking at the commissioning at Parliament today, Kadaga noted that Parliament has had challenges with making key decisions in the House due to lack of quorum.
The Chinese Ambassador to Uganda, Zhao Yali says all government institutions should adopt the new security systems similar to the one in Parliament.
