President Yoweri Museveni has revealed that there is no conflict between Rwanda and Uganda disming the alleged growing tension between the two countries.

Addressing journalists together with his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame after a closed door meeting, Museveni said Uganda does not even have a border conflict with Rwanda as it is the case with Kenya, Tanzania and DR Congo.

“There is no fundamental conflict between Rwanda and Uganda. I don’t see it. We don’t even have a border problem, at least with Kenya you can say there is Migongo, which we have not resolved. With Tanzania there is the issue of one latitude South and Congo there is With the border problem of Rukwanzi Island but with Rwanda there is no issue really,” said Mr Museveni.

On the issue of Rwandan citizens being harassed in Uganda allegedly for espionage, Museveni has called for close cooperation by intelligences services from both countries to dig out the right facts on each case.

“It seems there has been not enough coordination not only in intelligence but even on the development side when it comes to Railway and electricity, it seems people do not use phones to communicate,” he added.

Meanwhile Paul Kagame said many times issues between Uganda and Kenya are reported out of context retaliating Museveni’s call for close Cooperation.

Kagame meanwhile also revealed that the two countries have agreed on how institutions on both sides can work together adding that the details will be communicated soon.

President Paul Kagame arrived in the country today for a one day working visit.
