The incumbent FDC party president Major Gen Mugisa Muntu has promised to strengthen party cohesion as a vehicle to capture state power.

Speaking to the media shortly after his nomination earlier this afternoon, Muntu said the only weapon that will weaken the ruling party is a formidable opposition party with strong grass root structures.

He says this will be his focus if re-elected. Also nominated today is Moses Byamugisha, Dan Matsiko.

The FDC electoral head Dan Mugarura says Moses Lukubira who was also expected this afternoon will be nominated tomorrow together with other aspirants; Mubarak Munyagwa and Patrick Oboi Amuriat
Mugarura Bakubi.

Campaigns are slated to begin on 17th august up to 17th November.
