The security guard suspected to have shot eight people at Top bar has been arrested.

Deogratius Illukol who confesses to the act was this afternoon paraded before journalists at the central police station.

The police spokesman Kampala metropolitan Ibin Ssenkumbi says Illukol who works with Harsh Security had a disagreement with his girlfriend picked his gun firing randomly in the bar.

Senkumbi says investigations are still on going with the bar manager and some workers still under police custody.

He adds that the shooting resulted from a disagreement between two male revelers over a commercial sex worker.

One person died and 7 others sustained bullet injuries during the shooting.

Meanwhile one of the injured identified as Daniel Awol has been discharged from Mulago hospital where he and six others have been admitted since Saturday night.

Meanwhile,  addressing a news conference this morning, Senkumbi also revealed that over 150 were arrested during yesterday’s Kampala City festival. These include suspected pick pockets and other criminals.

Senkumbi says the suspects will be screened to identify the core criminals.

He however says the festival was generally peaceful with no major crime cases reporters.
