As schools re-open for the second term today, the police Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety has issued guidelines to road users to ensure safety for all, especially the learners.

Michael Kananura the traffic police spokesperson urges all motorists to follow traffic guidelines in order to minimize congestion on the road and prevent carnage.

He also advises parents and caretakers to ensure children below the age of 12 who will be travelling on motorcycles are accompanied at all times and should wear helmets.

“ In most cases when these motorcycles  hit the humps we have seen children jump off and get injured or some of them die, so these motorcycles which carry children  more than three are strongly warned and children on motorcycles are required to put on crush helmets,” Mr. Kananura said.

Term two that beings today on Monday, May 27, 2024 and will end on Friday, August 23, 2024, taking 89 days.

Term Three will then start on Monday, September 16, 2024 and end on Friday December 06, 2024 nearly two months.
