The Police in Fort portal are investigating the case of two pregnant (expectant) mothers who died at Buhinga Hospital.
The duo is said to have died after failing to get medical attention due to absence of doctors.
The women reportedly went into early labor and the deceased identified as Lukia Busingye and Jacqueline Tumwekwasegye, are said to have gone into early labor but were not attended to, which prompted the mortuary attendant to attempt to remove the fetus from them but in the process they both died.
Bakari Muga, the Rwenzori Regional Police spokesperson says they have arrested the mortuary attendant identified as David Ndikumana, as they hunt for doctors who were supposed to be on duty.
