By Ruth Anderah:

Makindye General Court martial has released on bail two women accused of causing a 2.7 billion shilling loss to government when they recruited a ghost pilot in the UPDF Air force.

The two are Caroline Kyakabale a Human Resource Officer in the Ministry of Defense and a one Evas Twinomugisha a wife to the Air force officer Major Maj. Kapalaga Lubega.

Through their Lawyer Retired Major Ronald Iduuli, they filed a bail application on grounds that it is their constitutional right, the charges against them are bailable by the same court, and that they have substantial sureties.

Lt General Andrew Gutti released the duo on a non cash bail of 20 million shillings each, and each of their sureties was bonded 10 million shillings not cash.

Hearing of this matter has been adjourned to August 21st 2017.

Prosecution states that the trio and others still at large between October 2005 and January 2016 caused the Ministry of Defense to enter into an employment contract with a non-existing pilot purportedly to be a Russian by Names Valerir Ketrisk
