Uganda today joins the rest of the world to commemorate the International Museum day.

The day internationally marked around 18th May provides opportunity to raise awareness on how important museums are in the development of society.

Speaking to Kfm Commissioner Museums, Rose Mwanja says a number of activities have been organized including a match from Fort Lugade in Old Kampala to Makerere and finally the National Museum in Kitintale where a meeting of various stakeholders will be held.

She says among the major challenges faced by the museums as limited research resulting from poor funding.

The day is to be marked under the theme “ Museums for a Sustainable Society”
